He is also the current assistant varsity basketball coach at Chaparral High School and head coach for the 8th grade team for Bella Vista Middle School.

In coach Johnson's own words, "I enjoy working with kids and passing on my knowledge, experience, and championship pedigree. To see the "lightbulb come on" in a young athlete's eyes is a very rewarding experience. I believe all things should be put in the proper perspective; athletics should be part of who we are, not all that we are, and education is the key ingredient in the recipe of life. While there is a finite window for athletics, a good education will sustain you throughout your lifetime."
